Juventus accept new Manchester United bid for star midfielder

Published on: 20 July 2016

Paul Pogba’s Manchester United return appears to be edging closer as Juventus have accepted an improved offer for the Frenchman.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Bianconeri turned down a €100 million bid from the Red Devils, who have since come back with a higher offer.

According to L’Equipe, the Bianconeri’s asking price of €120m has since been met by the English giants, who are desperate to land the star midfielder as they seek their first Premier League title since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

Pogba was previously on the books at Old Trafford, however, he left the club in 2012 in search of more regular first-team football, which he was afforded in Turin.

Since moving to Serie A, Pogba has featured on 178 occasions for Juve, as they clinched four Scudetti in that time, with Pogba contributing with 34 goals and 43 assists.

The deal to bring the 23-year-old back to Manchester now looks to be nearing completion, with some bookmakers even suspending betting on the move.
