Juventus and Inter battle for Chelsea’s stricken star

Italian sides Inter and Juventus are reportedly set to do battle in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The former Barcelona midfielder joined the London giants in June 2014, playing a key role in Jose Mourinho’s successful first year, but the 28-year-old has since experienced a second turbulent season at Stamford Bridge with hints of growing discontent towards a number of the Blues’ under-performing players.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri and Bianconeri will soon make moves to sign the Spaniard, facing a tough competition with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City also keen on the player.

Fabregas, who won’t take part in today’s Chelsea trip at Old Trafford, was recently booed by his own fans and could be available for as little as €25 million.

The midfield man has started 15 games in Premier League so far without finding the net.
