Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has praised his side following their impressive 2-0 win over Inter in the Derby d’Italia.

The Bianconeri sealed all three points thanks to goals from Leonardo Bonucci and Alvaro Morata, and Allegri has insisted their Sunday achievement is increasingly impressive as it coincided with their previous run of tough games.

“I have to congratulate my players,” Allegri told Premium Sport post match. “It was important to win against a tough team after our Champions League encounter on Tuesday.”

Both sides will meet again in the coming days at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for the semi-final of the Coppa Italia, and Allegri has revealed his optimism ahead of the difficult fixture.

“We are anticipating another difficult match in Milan but we are hopeful of reaching the final of the Coppa Italia,” Allegri added.

“We did well tonight, even with our commitments in other competitions, the boys were really great today.”

Juventus have moved four points ahead of Napoli following their Serie A win against the Nerazzurri.
