Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has admitted Bayern Munich are the favourites ahead of their Champions League clash at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on Tuesday evening.

The 28-year-old Germany international believes the underdog tag could suit the Bianconeri who had won 15 consecutive league matches before Friday’s goalless draw with Bologna.

“Bayern are among the best teams in the world,” Khedira told German newspaper Bild ahead of the match.

“It is no mystery that they are absolute favourites, but Juve is a team on a similar level to Bayern, with the experience and the characteristics suitable for playing games of this magnitude. I believe that in the end it could come down to physical condition.”

“Although we lack two strong defenders like [Giorgio] Chiellini and [Martin] Careers, we will be hoping to trouble the defence of the Germans. For them the absence of [Jerome] Boateng will be big as in my opinion he has been their best central defender over the last two years.”
