Juventus midfielder expected to miss three weeks

Sami Khedira could miss up to three weeks of action after Juventus confirmed he suffered a pulled thigh muscle against Valencia on Wednesday.

The German was forced off during the first half of the Bianconeri’s 2-0 victory, with Emre Can brought on to replace him.

“Having been forced off the field during the first half of Wednesday’s match, Sami Khedira underwent tests that revealed he had pulled the flexor muscles in his left thigh,” read a statement on the club’s website.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Khedira could miss up to three weeks of action, meaning he could miss matches against Frosinone, Bologna, Napoli and Young Boys.

Douglas Costa also limped off in the closing minutes of the match, with Juventus revealing he will undergo tests on Friday to determine the severity of his injury.
