Juventus plot move for Portuguese Playmaker

Juventus are reportedly on the search for midfield reinforcements and have their sights set on Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is hoping to increase the side’s creativity in the middle of the park and the Portuguese maestro may fit the required bill.

According to TuttoSport, the Bianconeri will inquire about a winter transfer, but are not prepared to break the bank for the 29-year-old.

The Portugal international joined Monaco from Porto in 2013 for €25 million under the assumption that the club would become major challengers for silverware, but has since seen his employers offload top players in an effort to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions.

Moutinho is yet to register a goal or assist this year for Monaco who currently sit second in Ligue 1, albeit 19 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The diminutive midfielder is under contract until June 2018 at the Stade Louis II and has reportedly also drawn interest from Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United.
