Juventus target move for Manchester United full back

Published on: 30 December 2015

Reigning Serie A champions Juventus are the latest side to be linked with a January move for Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian.

The ex-Torino man only joined the Premier League side last summer, but could be allowed to leave Old Trafford after failing to impress coach Louis van Gaal in recent months.

The Metro have revealed that Bianconeri sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has already flown to England in a bid to hold negotiations over a possible move, as coach Massimiliano Allegri is keen to replace utility-man Martin Caceres, whose potential departure is growing ever nearer.

A January move would initially be that of a loan until the end of the season, but could then be made permanent if Juventus pay the required €15 million fee in the summer.

In addition to the Old Lady, Serie A rivals Inter are also keen on acquiring Darmian, and may arrange negotiations with the Red Devils in the next few days.
