Kalaba backs Zambia to upset Ghana in Nations Cup semis

Midfielder Rainford Kalaba though acknowledges the quality of Ghana says Zambia will be up to the task when both sides meet in the Nations Cup semi final tie on Wednesday.

While the Chipolopolo had impressed with their exciting style of football, the Black Stars have struggled to get into the grove, making Wednesday's match-up even more competitive and unpredictable.

And the 25-year-old TP Mazembe player believes his side has what it takes to pull off a major upset against a quality Ghanaian side.

"It is a very difficult game to predict and we shall see what happens on the pitch," Kalaba said.

"They have a good chance and we have a chance too but we must not give them any chances. The 90 minutes on Wednesday will actually tell us who is the better side.

"They have some good and experienced players like Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew who have played at the World Cup.

"I was also impressed with Jordan Ayew who is also one of their upcoming players."

The victor of Wednesday's tie in Bata will go into Sunday's grand finale to face either Cote d'Ivoire or Mali who play in the other semi final tie in Libreville.
