Southampton's manager, Russell Martin, has stressed the importance of Kamaldeen Sulemana maintaining his fitness in order to showcase his immense talent.
This comes after Southampton's 3-0 defeat against Liverpool in the FA Cup's fifth round, where they missed the opportunity to face Manchester United in the quarterfinals.
Reflecting on Sulemana's missed opportunities during the match, Martin touched on the winger's history of injuries, which has been a setback for the former Stade Rennes player's career.
"It's crucial that Kamaldeen remains fit to achieve his potential. He's a young player who is constantly learning and is poised to become a significant player for us," said Martin in an interview with Daily Echo.
"I can see that he's a bit frustrated by the injuries. Just when he's started to get into a rhythm, injuries have forced him to step back," added Martin.
Sulemana, who has yet to score for Southampton this season due to injuries, was also absent from the 2023 AFCON for Ghana due to similar issues.
