Kante returns to Chelsea training after missing 6 games for hamstring injury

Chelsea have been handed a triple injury boost ahead of Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace, as N'Golo Kante returns to training.

The Blues make the short trip across London to face Patrick Vieira's side this weekend, with the influential Frenchman back in team training after missing six games with a hamstring problem.

The news will come as a big boost to new manager Graham Potter, who joined on September 8 and is set to have his first Premier League match in charge of Chelsea at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea have struggled in the absence of the defensive midfielder, losing 3-0 against Leeds, suffering a 2-1 reverse against Southampton and being stunned 1-0 by Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

A half-fit Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have tried to fill the engine-room breach, with limited success.

First-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been pictured back in training too after a recurring knee issue kept him out of recent games against Zagreb and Red Bull Salzburg in Europe, with No 2 Kepa Arrizabalaga stepping in.

American winger Christian Pulisic missed his country's 2-0 friendly defeat against Japan on Friday due to a knock in training.

However, USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter confirmed the 24-year-old has recovered and is set to start in Monday night's match against Saudi Arabia in Murca, Portugal.

The Blues will be delighted to have the trio back in action ahead of a jam-packed schedule in October which will see them contest nine fixtures in the month - around one match every three-and-a-half days.
