Karim Zito will begin official duties as Kotoko’s new reserves and development coach on Monday.

The former King Faisal trainer was appointed last month to revive the youth policy of the Premier League champions.

Zito is well-credited for identifying talents and will use his skill to groom them into becoming top players for the side.

He will be in charge of the under-20, 17 and scouts for players in order to shore up the exploits of the Kumasi-based club.

“I am going to be in charge of the under- 20, under-17, going round sctouting for players  in order to shore up exploits of the club,” Zito said in an earlier interview

“This is what people do outside. Kotoko is going the professional way and that is how it is being done,”

“So you look for someone who knows a lot about youth development. So he can groom them to become top players for Asante Kotoko,”

“It reduces the stress that comes with searching for players. It will help to build a concept for the club so any coach that comes may be compelled to work with the technical philosophy of the club.”

The senior team will start pre-season training on August 12.
