Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah had a mixed game for Kayserispor after providing two assists and missing a penalty during their 2-1 win over Yeni Malatyaspor on Sunday.

Mensah was the architect for the Blood and Gold lads as they pipped Malatyaspor to the three points at the Kadir Has Stadium.

Kayserispor were the better side in the opening period of the game and deservedly took the lead in the 22nd minute through Muris Mesanovic.

The Bosnian reacted quickly to Mensah’s acute pass inside the box to hammer home the opener.

Brazilian forward Pedro Henrique extended the hosts advantage with a precise finish after connecting beautifully to Mensah’s low pass in the 42nd minute.

Kayserispor were presented with a huge opportunity to bury the game in injury time but Mensah’s weak penalty strike was saved by goalkeeper Fabian Farnolle.

On the 70th minute mark, Icelandic Vidar Orn Kjartansson pulled a goal back for the visitors but it was not enough as Kayserispor collected the maximum points.

Mensah has made 20 league appearances for the side in the ongoing season, contributing 3 goals and 8 assists.
