As the race for the Premier League title heats up, Arsenal FC may be forced to delve into the transfer market for a new midfielder. This comes as fears mount over an injury to the team’s current midfielder, Mohamed Elneny.

Though Elneny is not a regular starter for the Gunners, his absence could have a significant impact on the team’s performance, especially with the added pressure of competing in both the FA Cup and Europa League. To make matters worse, the team is already operating with a small squad.

In an attempt to strengthen the team, Arsenal has already made two January signings, bringing in Belgium forward Leandro Trossard from Brighton and highly-rated Poland international defender Jakub Kiwior. Despite these additions, the team may need to make further moves in the current transfer window.

When asked about suggestions that Elneny could be out for the season, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta stated, “There are concerns. Mo is a player who never complains about anything. But let’s see. He had some issues with his knee that we are assessing at the moment.” He went on to say, “If there’s anything else available that can make us better, we’ll look at it.”

Adding to the team’s injury woes, forward Gabriel Jesus will also be missing the upcoming game against Manchester City due to a knee injury.

The Gunners currently sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League and will face their closest rivals, Manchester City, in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night. It remains to be seen if the team’s injury concerns and potential transfer moves will have a significant impact on their performance
