Manchester City attacking midfielder Phil Foden has taken to Twitter to react on his performance for England against Wales in the Qatar World Cup.
Phil Foden said he felt delighted to have scored his first World Cup goal after he helped England beat Wales on Tuesday night in Qatar.
Foden, who started on the bench against Iran and was an unused substitute against the USA last week Friday, started in an important game against Wales and put out a top performance.
The Manchester City forward scored his first World Cup goal in the second half with a decent finish to help the Three Lions beat Wales 3-0 to finish as the winners of Group B.
Reminiscing on his performance, he tweeted: “What a night! Absolutely buzzin’ to score my first goal in the World Cup! Come on England!”
Marcus Rashford, who also didn’t start England’s opening two group stage games against Iran and the USA, scored twice in the second half and won the man of the match award.
Foden believes the Manchester United forward, Rashford, can be crucial for the Three Lions going forward in the Qatar World Cup.
The Man City forward said: “He’s [Marcus Rashford] unbelievable, isn’t he? We seen today how crucial he’s going to be for us in the next stages. We’re going to need him, for sure.”
