Granit Xhaka has opened up on the private conversation he has had with Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta after World Cup.
Xhaka was part of the Switzerland national team that was competing in the world’s top tournament in Qatar.
The European side faced a shocking 6 – 1 defeat to Portugal and was knocked out in the Round of 16.
After a painful elimination, Xhaka returned to Arsenal training ground. The player now reveals how Arteta helped him to overcome the emotional hardships.
“We discussed everything. He can read me like nobody else. Mikel knows what it’s like to be down. He felt how hurt I was by the way I was eliminated, but there are so many other challenges and tournaments,” the midfielder said.
