Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz has reacted to manager Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.
The Blues parted ways with Tuchel following the club’s 1 – 0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League group stage opener.
Havertz has now admitted he was surprised to see Tuchel leave as his team were yet to show their potential for the ongoing season.
“[It surprised] me too. Especially when you consider how we’ve played in the past year and a half and what we’ve won,” the German said.
“With sixth place in the table, you can’t speak of a messed up start to the season, especially since we have many newcomers who first have to acclimitise. But football is very fast-moving, a lot can happen.”
