Louis van Gaal has revealed his plans for Memphis Depay and rates his chances of beating Ecuador tonight in the World Cup.
Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Memphis Depay will come on at half-time against Ecuador and also claimed that both countries head into the game using the same tactics.
The Netherlands started their Qatar World Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Senegal but the same can be said of Ecuador, who beat Qatar 2-0 on the opening day of the competition.
Memphis Depay came on late in the game against Senegal and Van Gaal has confirmed again that the Barcelona forward would join the mix in the second half against Ecuador.
When asked if Memphis Depay will come on at half-time against Ecuador, Van Gaal said: “If you promise not to tell anyone, yes he will.”
On what he expects against Ecuador, the former Manchester United boss added: “Ecuador are playing with the same system as us tonight. So I think we will win. I like it. I believe we execute this system better than they do.”
