Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder has been linked with a Premier League switch to become the new boss at Bournemouth, according to reports.

The Cherries parted ways with their manager Scott Parker earlier this month after a poor run of games, although the decision to sack Parker raised many eyebrows, given the teams he came up against.

Bournemouth replaced him with Gary O’Neil on a temporary basis. O’Neil has been touted to become Parker’s permanent successor, having managed to collect four points in his first two games in charge of the club.

However, his decent start to life as Bournemouth manager hasn’t stopped other managers from being linked with moves to occupy the vacant managerial role at the Vitality Stadium.

Former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder started the weekend at 8-1 to be the new Cherries boss, but those odds have drastically shortened to a best price of 1-3 this week, touting him a heavy odds-on favourite.

According to Teesside Live, the Championship side, Middlesborough, have not received any offer or contact from Bournemouth for Chris Wilder, who has struggled in the second division this season.

The ex-Blades manager may be one of the favorites to occupy the vacant managerial role at Bournemouth per bookmakers, Wilder has not had the best start to season with Boro this term.

They are currently occupying the 22nd position in the Championship under his watch, hence raising many eyebrows of those who had expected the North Yorkshire side to challenge Sheffield United for the automatic promotion places.

Chris Wilder conducted training as usual on Monday morning and he would look to guide Middlesbrough to maintain their momentum when they play visitors to 24th-placed Coventry this weekend.

Gary O’Neil will also look to extend his unbeaten run as Bournemouth acting manager when he hosts Brentford at the Vitality Stadium this weekend, hence, strengthening his chances of succeeding Scott Parker permanently.
