Serena Williams shared her emotions after winning her doubles match in Eastbourne. Along with Ons Jabeur, they beat Marie Bouzkova and Sara Sorribes-Tormo (2-6, 6-3, 13-11).
“It was so much fun playing with Ons. It was great, we had a lot of fun, and our opponents played amazing. We just tried to stay in the game after the first set.“
Williams, who played her first match of the year, also answered a question about her future plans.
“I’m not looking far ahead. I took my time after my hamstring injury, so I’m not going to make a bunch of decisions after that.
I felt good on the court and I told Ons in the first set, that we’re not playing bad, they’re the ones who played really well. Of course, the more we won, the more balls we hauled in, the better we felt as the match went on, it encouraged us: okay, things are working out, not just in practice, but now; said Serena Williams.
