The Lega Serie A and UNAR - the National Anti-Discrimination Office of Italian Government - with a series of initiatives dedicated to the 17th action week against racism, organised every year by UNAR and celebrated this year from 21st to 27th March, promote "Keep Racism Out", the first campaign of the Lega Serie A that aims to combat all forms of discrimination in football.
Thanks to the support and participation of the 20 associated clubs a virtuous path was started many months ago and has already seen the first matchday of this championship dedicated to the "Keep Racism Out" initiative, the organization of a workshop last December and the creation of a permanent CSR Commission that has identified the lines of action to eradicate racism from the stadiums.
A series of initiatives conceived during the workshop to support this important campaign are now starting:
15/03 - Launch of the official kit "Keep Racism Out": inside the most played football video game in the world, EA SPORTS FIFA 21 by Electronic Arts, in the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode players from all over the world will be able to get the special uniform and use it for their team.
17/03 - Video Spot: all Lega Serie A clubs, together, through their protagonists, launch for the first time a strong message against racism through a video that establishes the precise will of a shared commitment. 20 representative players, one for each of the clubs, will deliver a clear message of inclusion and fight against racism. The video will be published on all official Lega Serie A channels and on all social media profiles of the 20 Clubs.
19, 20, 21/03 - League match day dedicated to the campaign: Lega Serie A will dedicate entirely to the campaign the Serie A TIM 2020/21 Matchday 28, scheduled for 19th, 20th and 21st March.
"The action to fight racism in football knows no rest and we know that there is still a lot to do - said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of the Lega Serie A -. From the workshop held in December together with the clubs, we received very clear indications on how to act in terms of fan education, handling racist episodes, inclusion on the territory and revision of the regulations in agreement with the FIGC. Our action will be constant and thanks to the collaboration with our clubs we will continue with determination at every level in the fight against discrimination".
