Kehrer arrival pleases Tuchel

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel believes his club have signed a player of great versatility in the shape of German midfielder Thilo Kehrer.

The 21-year-old has completed a move to the French capital from Bundesliga outfit Schalke and Tuchel is confident that the Germany Under-21s captain will prove to be an astute acquisition.

Thilo is a very talented player, very strong and technical.

Tuchel told his club's official website ahead of their Ligue 1 trip to Guingamp on Saturday: "With Thilo we have signed a very versatile player, capable of playing every position in midfield and also in front of the defence.

"Thilo is a very talented player, very strong and technical. We have to see how quickly he can adapt. He trained for the first time yesterday and we will decide if he travels with us to Guingamp."

Kehrer himself had earlier spoken of his happiness at heading to PSG, saying: "Throughout Europe the strength and attractiveness of the Parisian project are known to all.

"I could not imagine finding a better club to continue my progress and achieve my goals."

Kehrer, who had made 44 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke before making the move to France, has won nine caps for Germany at Under-21 level.

PSG have scored seven goals and conceded none in the two games they have played so far this season.

They defeated Monaco 4-0 in the Trophee des Champions, before opening their Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-0 home victory over Caen.

PSG are priced at 7/1 to win the Champions League this season, with Bayern Munich 7/1 and last season's runners-up Liverpool 11/1.
