Kennedy Ashia reveals offer from Al Hilal was to good to refuse as reason for ditching local cluns
Kennedy Ashia is now a player of Al Hilal

Ghanaian midfielder Kennedy Ashia has revealed he ditched local clubs in favour of a move to Al Hilal due to a mammoth offer the Sudanese club made him.

The 23-year-old was in talks to join Asante Kotoko but the move fell through after both parties failed to agree on a deal.

Ashia days later traveled to Sudan to complete a move to Al Hilal.

He was days later joined by Abeiku Ainooson who was signed by the Sudanese club on a one-year loan stint.

The former Liberty Professionals player has now revealed the offer from Al Hilal was too good to refuse compared to the ones made by local clubs.

“The offer from Al Hilal was very tempting, at your peak as a footballer you have to seek for money so that at the end of your career you will not be a pauper,”Ashia told Gazzetta Ghana.

“Before going to Sudan I was close in joining a top club in Ghana but the deal from Sudan was so huge that I couldn’t reject it and I have not regretted taking that decision.”

Ashia was one of the leading performers in the Ghanaian top flight last season.

He is currently in Ghana to gather his personal belongings before returning to join Al Hilal to begin his career with the Sudanese club.
