Kessben appeal for name change to Medeama SC

Published on: 23 October 2010

Kessben FC have expressed the desire to change their name to Medeama Sporting Club with immediate effect, DAILY GUIDE SPORTS has reported.

The club has consequently written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to grant their wish and they are now patiently awaiting a favourable response.

Sources said the GFA has now referred the matter to its Legal Committee to decide whether it is legally permissible for Kessben FC to have their name changed in the course of the season.

Medeama FC officials bought Kessben FC at the beginning of this season and their initial attempt to change the name of the club was denied by the GFA.

The club, sources said, now think they are at liberty to change the name to Medeama.
