Dutch-Ghanaian forward Kevin Appiah Nyarko made a big impact as Varbergs BoIS FC stormed to a 4-2 win over previously unbeaten Landskrona BoIS in Round 9 of the Superettan.
Varbergs exploded out of the blocks at PÃ¥skbergsvallen, scoring four goals in the opening 19 minutes to stun the visitors. Marc Tokich started the scoring in the 5th minute, followed by a quick brace from Oliver Alfonsi in the 11th and 17th. Two minutes later, Nyarko capped off the early blitz with a sharp finish to make it 4-0.
Nyarko, who started the match and lasted 62 minutes, impressed fans with his movement and energy. His goal and overall play were key in one of Varbergs' best starts this season.
Though Landskrona pulled two goals back late in the second half through Christian Stark in the 82nd minute and Kofi Fosuhene Asare in the 90+1 minute, the damage had already been done.
This victory gives Varbergs their seventh win in 13 meetings against Landskrona. They now shift focus to Sunday’s huge home clash against Kalmar FF in what feels like an early title showdown.
