Kevin Boateng doubtful for Ghana's clash with Sudan

AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is a major doubt for Ghana’s African Cup of Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday.

AshantiGold midfielder Sampson Cudjoe has been handed a shock call as a stand-by substitute for the German-born ace.

Ghana caretaker coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed that Boateng suffered a thigh injury during their Serie A game over the weekend.

Black Stars medical team will continue to monitor Boateng's progress before a final decision of his participation in the game is made.

Cudjoe, who has been drafted in, has been voerly impressive for AshGold in the five-week old Ghana top flight league.

Goalkeeper Daniel Agyei of Liberty Professionals has been called up to increase the number of local players in the squad to four.

Ghana opened the Group I qualifiers with a 3-0 away win against Swaziland in Lombamba and sit at the top of Group I.

The Black Stars losing finalist in the last tournament are aiming for a place in the finals of the competition to be co-hosted by Gabon/ Equatorial Guinea.

The group also includes Congo.
