Kevin Boateng passed fit for Serie A opener

Italian champions AC Milan have declared Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng fit for their title defence at Cagliari on Saturday night.

The midfielder was a doubt for Milan's Serie A opener after picking up a calf injury in last week's win over Juventus in the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi.

The 24-year-old grabbed the opener in their 2-1 win.

Boateng underwent checks on the injury and was passed fit for action.

He trained with the squad on Wednesday morning and should be available for selection at the Stadio Sant'Elia.

Boateng joined Milan on loan last season but earned a permanent deal this summer.
