Kevin-Prince Boateng scored a brilliant goal for AC Milan on Wednesday night in their 3-2 reverse against Barcelona in the Uefa Champions League.

The ex-Ghana international struck in the 54th-minute to restore draw level at 2-2 but Xavi scored the winner.

The midfielder beat Eric Abidal with a clever back-heel before rifling a swerving shot past Valdes.

Barcelona again responded, and Messi was again instrumental, playing another ball of surgical precision to Xavi, who finished with a low shot across Abbiati.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored against his former employers after Mark van Bommel's own goal gave Barcelona the opener.

Just before half-time, Lionel Messi's penalty restored the lead.

Elsewhere, Jordan and Andre Ayew started in Olympique Marseille's 1-0 defeat at home to Greek side Olympiacos but 19-year-old Jordan was replaced after 61 minutes.

Emmanuel Frimpong was an unused substitute in Arsenal's 2-1 win over German side Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates.
