Kevin Prince-Boateng blames 'mistake-prone' Germany defence for EURO 2020 exit

Ghanaian forward Kevin Prince-Boateng has accused Germany's bad defence for their EURO 2020 exit.

The 34-year-old who was working as a pundit to German television ARD believes the German defence was so poor despite the missed chances.

Germany lost 2-0 to England, the first defeat in a knockout stage against the Three Lions in 55 years.

"I would not dwell too much on the wasted opportunities ahead, but on defense. Yes, today and in the last few games behind, we played really badly and made many mistakes," said the forward on ARD.

Boateng has been critical of the Die Mannschaft after coach Joakim Low dropped several senior players including his brother Jerome Boateng.

England's EURO 2020 hero Raheem Sterling opened the scoring before Harry Kane completed victory with a fine header.

The exit of Germany is the second successive tournament that they failed to reach the semi-finals.

England will now face Ukraine, who beat Sweden 2-1 on Tuesday evening.
