Ghanaian attacker Kevin-prince Boateng has hailed Eintracht Frankfurt's former sporting director Fredi Bobic for the club's Europa League success.

Frankfurt defied all odds to reach the final, beating Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the quarter-final, and defeated Rangers on penalties to lift the trophy in Seville.

Boateng, a former Frankfurt player, believes Bobic played a role in the team's success in Europe and has showered praises on him.

"The fact that Eintracht just won the Europa League is thanks to the foundation that Bobic laid six years ago. Among sports managers, Bobic is something like Lionel Messi. You have to give him time," Boateng told the news magazine Der Spiegel.

Bobic worked successfully at Eintracht Frankfurt from 2016 to 2021, including winning the DFB Cup with Boateng in 2018.

Last summer he moved to Hertha Berlin, where also works with Boateng. Bobic actually sanctioned Boateng's free transfer to the club before the start of the season.
