Ghanaian International Kevin-Prince Boateng was not happy the Turkish League was in session amid the coronavirus concerns and had written to Beskitas to allow him return to Germany.

According to reports Boateng wanted to boycott training as he felt unsafe.

Management of the club had advised the 33-year old to stay put in Istanbul, Turkey which was safer because there were no recorded cases of the Covid-19 and the league matches could be postponed.

Other foreign players in the team also wanted to boycott training and stay home because of the coronavirus after other European countries had halted their leagues with the exception of Turkey.

Management of the players "have coronavirus epidemic all over the world.

"Currently the most secure environment is Turkey. We will do the necessary to the Board. We are now waiting for the decision on the match federation," a statement released by the club on the situation.

The Turkish Süper Lig has been postponed until further notice in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
