King Faisal Babies coach SlaviÅ¡a BožiÄiÄ has expressed his side's readiness for the resumption of the Ghana Premier League.
The 2019/2020 football season in Ghana was suspended in March by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in line with a directive from the government that indicated that all public gatherings including sporting activities had been banned as a precautionary measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.
Several weeks later, the situation of the disease has far worsened with no clear indication of when it will get better.
In line with that, there have been calls for the season to be annulled as six other African nations have done.
But King Faisal Serbian coach BožiÄiÄ has called on the Ghana FA to resume the campaign, claiming that advocates of the league will see a different King Faisal side after addressing issues which were affecting the team's performance prior to the covid-19 break.
“I have solved King Faisal’s defensive problems. We have registered good and experienced defenders, none is better than them. King Faisal is a strong team now,” SlaviÅ¡a BožiÄiÄ told Kumasi FM.
Stressing on his side’s readiness to resume the league, BožiÄiÄ said, “I would like the league to continue. I have called my friends in Europe and every league is starting."
"If Europe is starting why not Ghana,” he queried.
King Faisal are the only club in the 2019/20 league to go winless in 15 games before the enforced covid-19 break.
