King Faisal eyes Nyinahi Sports Complex as new home venue ahead of next season

Executive Chairman of King Faisal Babes, George Amoako has confirmed that the club has settled on the Nyinahi Sports Complex as their new home venue for next season, subject to approval by the Ghana FA.

The Kumasi-based club are eyeing a move away from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to the newly constructed facility.

Meanwhile, there is a proposal by the Ghana FA to play the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League in two zones amid the Coronavirus pandemic with Obuasi and Dormaa likely to be confirmed as  venues for league matches for the Northern zone teams.

According to George Amoako should the Ghana FA carry on with its plan, it will be unlikely for King Faisal to use their desired venue next season.

"Looking at the proposal from the Ghana FA for the 2020/2021 league in the midst of Covid-19, it means that we might have to break the league into two , Northern and Southern zones", he told Oyerepa FM.

"Just two venues will be used to play all the matches, home and Away in our zone, it has not been firmed up yet by the stakeholders.

"It looks like Nyinahini will not be part strictly Obuasi and Dormaa that's what's on paper now if that happens, then we will have to comply but if given the chance to play at our desired home grounds, it is 90% we are going to Nyinahini, he added.
