King Solomon FC owner wants zonal promotional play-offs abolished

Owner of second-tier side King Solomon FC Solomon Amankwah Agyin wants the zonal play-offs scrapped.

The Belgium-based football is advocating for a league format instead of the current system which groups 12 teams in three zones.

He believes the format is helping corrupt referees to deny clubs worthy of promotion.

"I suggest that the promotion should be determined through the league format and these zonal play-offs abolished. Some unscrupulous people are using it for horse-trading and making money," Agyin told GHANAsoccernet.com

"It's painful for a referee to scuttle your plans by some absurd decisions and drain all your efforts. Last Sunday when my team played Tema Youth, we were victims of poor officiating and that really hurt."

King Solomon FC must beat D'International on Thursday to stay in contention for a promotional ticket.
