Kingson wants coach's explanation for AFCON squad omission

Richard Kingson wants a  personal explanation for why he was dropped from Ghana's squad for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The former Blackpool goalkeeper has been a prominent member of the Black Stars at every major football competition in the last five years but was axed because he has been clubless since the end of last season according to Ghana Coach Goran Stevanovic.

Media reports had suggested Kingson who last played for Ghana in June this year had a row with the coach after he was dropped for the qualifier against Swaziland - reports that the 33-year-old has dismissed.

He is however furious that Stevanovic did not speak to him before the decision was made.

"As at now I don't know why I was not picked," he told Radio Gold.

"The  coach has not called me to say he has taken me out for this or that reason and no one at the GFA has done that too."I have been the coach's first choice since he has been here so its only fair that he would have spoken to me.

“In Europe when you want to bench a regular player you give them reasons."Kingson revealed he has not spoken to the Serbian since Ghana's friendly game against Brazil in early September.
