Richard Kingson has linked up with the Ghana national side but believes his future is definitely in England.

The keeper, released by Blackpool, will play for his country in African Nations Cup qualifying and in a friendly against South Korea before deciding on his next career move.

But after making 20 appearances for the Seasiders last season, Kingson believes he has proved himself a top-level stopper.

The keeper, 33 next month, said: “I had a great time at Blackpool and I think I proved to those who had doubts that I am good for that level.

"It is just a shame that the club went down because it is a very good club, one that will remain very special to me.”

Kingson has plied his trade in this country for the past four years, joining Pool after spells at Birmingham and Wigan.
