Koeman tells Kyiv coach how long Pique will be missing: Maybe 4 or 5 months

Ronald Koeman and Mircea Lucescu, the coaches of Barcelona and Dynamo Kyiv, had a conversation ahead of their sides' Tuesday night Champions League meeting about Gerard Pique's injury.

The Dutchman told his opposite number that the centre-back could be out for four to five months. This comes after Barcelona refrained from offering an estimated recovery time in their statement confirming the defender's internal lateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

"I saw the [Atletico Madrid] match and you played well in the first half, your football was very good," Lucescu told Koeman, according to Movistar.

"They are really good and strong defensively," Koeman replied to Lucescu.

"You had chances to score," Lucescu continued.

"Yes, yes, and we've had bad luck with injuries," Koeman said. "Ansu Fati will be out around three months. Pique might be out for four or five months. Sergi Roberto will be out two months. But, you know, you have the same problem. It's crazy."
