Konadu is Ghana Premier League Best Coach

Maxwell Konadu picked up the Ghana Premier League Best Coach of the Season Award for leading Asante Kotoko to their first title in four years.

The newly-appointed Ghana assistant coach achieved the feat in his first year at the club after joining from Wa All Stars.

He scooped the award ahead of AshantiGold coach Yaw Acheampong whose side finished second and Bashir Hayford who led Medeama to fourth place.

Konadu built a formidable squad which won 18 matches, drew 9 and lost three to amass 68 points.

The Porcupine Warriors had the second best defence after conceding 18 goals but had the best attack of the campaign by scoring 43 goals. Konadu will leave the club to concentrate on his new job with the Black Stars.

Other recipients at the awards gala on Saturday night in Kumasi were Best Chief Executive Award which went to Dr KK Sarpong of Asante Kotoko.

Best Behaved Supporting Group went to (Wa) All Stars and Fair Play Award also to went to All Stars.
