Former Asante Kotoko winger Ollenu Ashitey says his career has taken a nosedive since being involved in the accident three years ago.

Ashitey suffered broken ribs and other injuries when Kotoko's team bus run into a stationary vehicle on the Accra-Kumasi highway in 2017.

The team was returning from Accra after losing to Inter Allies in a Ghana Premier League match.

The accident claimed the life of deputy equipment officer Kofi Asare.

Three years on and victims have not been compensated by the club and according to Ashitey Ollenu if they had perished in that accident they would have died a senseless death.

"We would have died a stupid death if we had died in that accident, Ghanaian players should learn from it, when you get the opportunity to travel outside, don't take it for granted".

"I am disappointed because it has affected my career. The sad aspect is that Kotoko transferred us from the club after the accident."

"We have not received a penny from Kotoko" he lamented.

Ollenu joined Kotoko as a free agent from arch-rivals Hearts of Oak. He is currently on the books of Techiman Eleven Wonders.
