Kotoko and Hearts of Oak push for stronger security measures after fan tragedy

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are calling for improved security in the Ghana Premier League following the tragic death of a Kotoko supporter, Francis Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley.

The two clubs will submit a joint position paper to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), urging stricter security measures at match venues.

This follows the violence at the Nana Koromansah II Stadium during Kotoko’s match against Nsoatreman, which resulted in multiple arrests.

In a statement, both clubs emphasized the need for urgent reforms to protect fans, players, and officials.

They plan to discuss their proposals with the GFA’s Executive Committee on February 6, ahead of the association’s broader meeting with all Premier League clubs.
