Asante Kotoko have suspended the formation of an emerging splinter supporters group, GHANAsoccernet can exclusively reveal.

Management of the club took the decision to ban the composition of the group nicknamed ‘The Warriors’ on Tuesday

This is to forestall any hostilities within the supporters front ahead of the premier league opener on 9 October.

The recognized body, the National Circles Council, were hit the severe blow when one-time management member Ali Maradona opted to form a new group.

''Management met on the disturbing development this afternoon (Tuesday) and have agreed that the new group should suspend all their activities with immediate effect," Public and Supporters Relation Manager Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively.

"Inasmuch us we all want to help mobilize supporters, its imperative the right procedure is followed."

The splinter group accused officials of the NCC of not doing enough to halt the streak of in-fighting in the association.

THIS IS AN UNFORTUNATE DEVELOPMENT. IF MANAGEMENT ACCEPT THE FACT THAT ITS GOOD TO MOBILIZE SUPPORTERS FOR OUR GREAT CLUB. THEN THEY SHOULD HELP US FOLLOW THE RIGHT PROCEDURE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. WE IN THE WARRIORS ARE NOT IN TO FIGHT ANY BODY OR A GROUP IN ASANTE KOTOKO. WE ARE IN TO LEND A HELPING HAND. LETS PROJECT THE KOTOKO BRAND BETTER. BY PRO.GREATER ACCRA. 0244810007
