Ghana's No. 1

Kotoko captain Felix Annan demands $1,200 monthly salary before renewing contract

Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan is demanding $1,200 monthly salary before signing a fresh contract, multiple media reports have claimed.

The 25-year-old wants to be on the same salary wave-length with Uganda import George Abege, who is receiving the same amount, it has been claimed in the local media.

Annan, who is the captain of the iconic Ghanaian club, is dragging his feet over contract extension with his current deal set to expire in THREE WEEKS.

He wants to be the highest paid player at the club - in a financial demand which has stalled progress on contract talks.

Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan is demanding a monthly salary of $1200 before he inks a new deal with the club.

A cult hero at the club, the former WAFA glovesman wants to cash in after becoming the most influential player in Kumasi in recent years.

The last line of defense is a key figure at the club and failure to meet his demands could put the club's top hierarchy on a collision course with the supporters.

The club's No.1 gloves man is out of contract at the end of this month [December] but talks are yet to begin on a contract extension.

Annan is allowed to talk to interested clubs and possibly sign a pre-contract.

Kotoko are unlikely to let their safest pair of hands leave with new coach Maxwell Konadu coming in.

Annan has been one of the most impressive Kotoko players the last three seasons.
