Asante Kotoko are close to sealing a deal with Nania FC to make playmaker Prince Baffoe their first January signing.

The youngster emerged as a major transfer target of several clubs including Kotoko following his exploits with the Division One club during last season’s FA Cup competition which Nania won.

However, Nania snubbed all overtures for one of their priced asset but it appears they are now ready to deal following their first round elimination from the current FA Cup campaign.

“Talks are at an advanced stage with Nania and we should conclude an agreement in a few days to come,” Kotoko’s Public Relations and Supporters Manager Listowell Yesu Bukarson told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The player (Baffoe) has been identified by our coach (Maxwell Konadu) as one of the materials he will need to take the team forward and we as management are committed to providing him with these quality materials.”

If successful, the midfielder will be reunited with Maxwell Konadu who was the assistant coach of the Ghana team that won the All Africa Games earlier this year – Baffoe was a prominent member of that squad.
