Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko are reportedly closing in on a deal for former Karela United striker William Opoku Mensah.

Opoku-Mensah, 23, has returned to his native Ghana after his contract at American side Swope Park Rangers was canceled over poor performance.

The striker is reported to have reached an agreement with the Porcupine Warriors over his move to Kumasi.

The highly-rated striker endured a hellish and nightmarish time in the United States after failing to make a single appearance for Swope Park Rangers.

He has returned to his homeland to revive his career with the Ghanaian giants seen as the idea club to rediscover his verve and form.

Mensah, who scored an incredible 19-minute hattrick against giants Hearts of Oak in 2018, bagged seven goals in 14 appearances for the Aiyinase-based side same year.
