Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akunor believes his team can only get better in the CAF Confederations Cup as they begin their journey in the group stages with a trip to Sudan.

The Porcupine Warriors will Al Hilal of Sudan on Sunday in the opening group C game.

Ahead of the trip to Sudan, C.K Akunor disclosed that the team is continuously improving as the tournament wears on.

“We did our best against the previous two opponents, Kariobangi Sharks and Coton Sport, and we can only get better. Indeed at the beginning of the competition many doubted our abilities, but we are here now and looking to rewrite history.

“Whatever it is that we can do, we will to the best of our abilities. For now, we are looking at taking it match by match, and keep improving.

“We respect our opponents and this is not the first time both teams are meeting, we have a history in common. The players have shown that they are ready to make a name for themselves and if we want to get the quarterfinals, then we have to win some away games too, and that is what we are looking at.”

The record Ghana Premier League champions will return to Kumasi to host Zesco United ten days after the Al Hilal game.
