Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has jumped to the defence of under-fire Hearts of Oak  player Uriah Asante over the midfielder's well-wising facebook message to him.
The 21-year-old has incurred the wrath of the supporters over the incident with others threatening to beat him up when he shows up at the team's training ground.
His loyalty has been questioned after he replied to a comment on the social networking site where he urged Konadu to win Wednesday's league match at champions Berekum Chelsea.
Asante wrote: "I pray you win'' in response to Konadu's status update which read: "No retreats no surrender at Berekum on Wednesday."
But the ex-Ghana Olympic assistant coach insists the player did no wrong in responding to his comment.
"I don’t think Hearts fans should be alarmed over a harmless response to my post on facebook," Konadu said
"I coached him at the Under-23. He's my friend just like a lot of the people at Hearts and so he should not be ostracized for wishing me well.
"I have many friends at Hearts who call me to congratulate me on what we’re doing at Kotoko and also offer me wishes. Would you say that’s a betrayal as well?
"Please he’s a young promising player and he needs our encouragement to get to the top.
"The era of beating up players is in the past and so the fans should not read any unnecessary meanings into it. It’s absolutely nothing."
