Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has reiterated his stance against ball-playing goalkeepers, citing it as a factor in the improvement of Kotoko's goalkeeping department.
Zito's comments come after his team's 4-1 win over Dreams FC.
The veteran coach emphasized his ability to develop goalkeepers, having worked with Felix Annan and Philemon McCarthy in the past.
Zito attributed Kotoko's goalkeeping improvement to his goalkeeper coach Joe Baah's hard work.
Zito specifically criticized goalkeepers who play like Andre Onana, stating, "There are certain things in goalkeeping I don’t like... this Onana issue I don’t like." He believes goalkeepers should focus on their primary role as the last line of defense.
Zito emphasized the crucial role goalkeepers play, saying, "They are the last line of defense and the first line of attack."
He credited his goalkeeper coach's daily work with the team for the improvement in Kotoko's goalkeeping.
