Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu delighted by victory against 'a good' Hearts of Oak team

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu says he is happy with the win against a very 'solid' Hearts of Oak team on match day six of the Ghana Premier League.

Konadu has never lost to Hearts of Oak as coach and reveals his tactics once again worked as the Porcupine Warriors conquered the Phobians in Accra.

"I know the team (Hearts)  quite too well but I must be honest, this time around they have a very solid team," he said in the post match interview.

Kotoko opened the scoring just 11 minutes into the game after Justice Blay rose high to head in pass goalkeeper Richard Attah.

Hearts leveled in the second half through Joseph Esso but Naby Keita's injury time penalty secured victory for the Kumasi giants.

"When the game is getting tough, there are so many tricks and stuffs we bring on board. If you could see in the last minute I was signalling my goalkeeper to try something else because we were leading and we needed to do something to kill the game off," Kondau said.

"But we can't tell the public whatever we try to do. Somebody can go in intentionally get some penalty so something, just try something and these are the small small tricks when the going gets tough, you have to deploy and when it works for you, you carry the day.

"It wasn't an easy match and I must say Hearts have a good team but my team is also picking up and we have to congratulate the team."
