Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum analyses heavy Accra Lions defeat

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has provided insight into the team's 3-0 loss to Accra Lions, citing successive counter-attacks as the reason for the defeat.

Despite dominating possession, Kotoko were caught out by swift counter-attacks, which led to the three goals.

"We lost the game on a counter attack," Ogum said. "If you look at the two first half goals that they scored, they were all as a result of counter attacks."

Ogum made several changes to the lineup, including dropping in-form striker Kwame Opoku to the bench. However, he insisted that the changes did not affect the team's performance. "We did some changes to the team... I think the team played well until we conceded those two goals."

The defeat leaves Kotoko in third place with 47 points, ahead of their crucial match against second-placed Nations FC.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions have moved out of the relegation zone and sit 14th on 29 points, setting up a match against Heart of Lions in their next encounter.
