Asante Kotoko's Awal Mohammed has denied insulting referee E.R.Biney during Kotoko’s 1-0 defeat away to All Stars played at the Wa Park.

The incident which was captured in the referee's match report of the 12th-week league fixture states Awal, 23, labelled the referee "Tampiri" which is translated in local dilate 'bastard'.

However Awal who has been summoned to the Ghana FA's Disciplinary Committee to answer for his captured conduct insists he did no such thing during the game.

"I don't even understand ''tampiri'' so how do i say such a word to a referee who did nothing to me,'' he told Angel FM.

"I didn't say anything of that sort, I can't recollect saying such a thing and ready to meet him at the Disciplinary Committee because I have said nothing.''

A date for the hearing is yet to be determined. If found guilty, the stalwart defender could fans match bans and fines per the rules and regulations governing the Premier League.
