Ghana's No. 1

Kotoko eclipse Frosinone in a big coup to land Patrick Asmah

Asante Kotoko are moving closer to signing a much more high-profile player – former Atalanta and Ghana U-20 star, Patrick Asmah.

Asmah, 24, with FIFA World Cup experience and a left-back pedigree greatly in need to spearhead the revolution being engineered in the new Kotoko vision, is understood to have opted for the club despite interest from Italian Serie B side Frosinone.

The development, when finalised on paper, will shock the Kotoko fraternity and further positively highlight the new vision being implemented at the club by the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led management team.

Asmah, free after years on contract with Atalanta, is a versatile left-back with speed and an effective wing-back option.

Asmah flew into Ghana from Italy this week and a deal is understood to have been agreed in principle.
